General rules and conditions

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

  1. General: 4LNguage s.r.o. is obliged to provide the student with the chosen programme to the extent and under the conditions specified on the official website of 4LNguage s.r.o. Students’ arrangements with 4LNguage s.r.o. are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Fees are stated in euros. All expenses related to the course are the responsibility of the student.
  2. Arrivals and departures: if the student notifies us at least 5 days before arrival, accommodation is guaranteed from any day. The airport transfer is free if the student arrives on time, i.e. by the first day of the course.
  3. Late arrivals, holidays and absences: if a student starts late or is absent during the course, no refund will be given for the time missed. Absence time cannot be made up with a free extension of the course. Break dates are built into the Academic Year and Academic Semester programs in advance and students cannot change these dates. Breaks taken on other dates will be marked as periods of absence. Students with an attendance rate of less than 80 % will be reported to the relevant immigration authorities for visa misuse. In addition, in this case, students will not be allowed to sit the final examinations and will not be entitled to a certificate of completion. Information on academic progress and attendance will be available online and will be updated at least once a month.
  4. One-off scholarship: is paid to students only if the student arrives on time, i.e. by the first day of the course.
  5. Public holidays: there are usually no classes on public holidays and most school facilities are closed. All published course start dates fall on Mondays. If Monday is a public holiday, the start date will be on Tuesday. No refunds will be given for classes not held on public holidays.
  6. Length of lessons: all lessons are 45 minutes unless otherwise stated. Classes run Monday through Friday according to the schedule sent to the student with all other instructions prior to the start of the course.
  7. Late arrival to class: if a student is more than 10 minutes late to class, the teacher has the right not to allow the student to attend class. In any case, a late arrival for more than 10 minutes is marked as a missed lesson.
  8. Books and teaching materials: all books and teaching materials for Czech language courses will be available to students during the course. A deposit for books may be collected at the beginning of the course or semester. This will be refunded at the end of the course if the books are returned in good condition.
  9. Health insurance: The student is responsible for arranging and paying for health insurance, and for paying for any medical expenses that may arise during the stay and study in the preparatory courses.
  10. Expulsion/Suspension: a student who commits a criminal offense, violates the student conduct policy, school rules or school discipline, or in the case of poor attendance as determined by the University (regardless of whether such attendance is in violation of visa requirements), may be expelled or suspended and go home immediately. No refunds will be made and the immigration authorities will be notified.
  11. Liability: 4LNguage s.r.o. shall not be liable for damages arising from negligence, breach of law or otherwise.
  12. Force Majeure: 4LNguage s.r.o. shall not be liable in cases where 4LNguage s.r.o. is unable to perform the services it has contracted to perform due to fire, natural disaster, government intervention, failure of suppliers or subcontractors, labor disputes, or other causes beyond 4LNguage s.r.o.’s control.
  13. Student Code of Conduct: The student agrees to abide by the Student Code of Conduct and other policies while participating in the preparatory courses. As part of 4LNguage s.r.o. commitment to the success of our students, we strive to provide an optimal learning environment and expect students to behave considerately of their surroundings. Inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1) disruption of the learning environment (i.e., use of profanity, harassment, use of cell phones in classrooms, arriving more than 10 minutes late to class, etc.); 2) intentional destruction, misuse, or theft of 4LNguage s.r.o. property or the property of fellow students; 3) violence or threats of violence against persons or property of 4LNguage s.r.o. students or staff. LLC; 4) failure to comply with local copyright or criminal laws prohibiting the misuse, copying, or alteration of copyrighted materials; 5) transmitting instructional materials to third parties; 6) making copies, including taking photographs, of instructional materials for classroom use only.Student Code of Conduct violation is the reason for exclusion from the course with no refund made.

REFUND POLICY:

Refunds will be made to the student’s bank account in the same country where the fees were originally paid. All refunds will be made within 45 days of written notification. In the event that 4LNguage s.r.o. cancels or terminates the course, a full refund of all unused fees will be made.

POSTPONEMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY:

“Cancellation” means cancellation of a course before the start date of the first course you attend. Cancellations must be made in writing. In this case, 100% of the course fee and accommodation fee will be refunded, but the registration and placement fee will not be refunded.

VISA REJECTION:

In the event of a visa refusal, the student must submit a written notification of the visa refusal and all relevant supporting documents. In this case, 100% of the tuition and accommodation fee will be refunded, but the enrolment and accommodation fee will not be refunded. The student is only entitled to this credit if he/she did not enrol in the course before obtaining a long-term visa or long-term permit. Otherwise, the Termination Conditions article will apply.

TERMINATION POLICY:

“Termination” means the interruption or abandonment of all or part of a booked course or courses, including extensions, after the first course has commenced. In determining the number of weeks completed, a partial week is counted as a full week provided the student was present for at least one day during the scheduled week. In all cases, enrolment and accommodation fees are non-refundable and the course termination must be notified in writing to the Course Director. Students who complete the program may not be eligible to receive a certificate at the end of the course.

Students wishing to terminate the program must notify the course director in writing 4 weeks in advance. Refunds will be calculated as indicated below based on the percentage of the course completed including the notice period:

if up to 10% of the program has been completed: 50% refund of unused tuition fees

if 11-29% of the program has been completed: 30% refund of unused tuition fees

if more than 30% of the program has been completed: 0% refund of unused tuition fees

In all cases where a student terminated his or her studies, the relevant immigration authorities will be informed.
